Peshawar could not host matches in the PSL 9

Even after two years of starting construction, the project is still unfinished.

Before the start of season nine in 2024, Peshawar could not host matches in the PSL 9 matches once more.

Construction issues:

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government started building the Hayatabad Cricket Stadium two years ago, but the project is still unfinished.

Electric issues:

Floodlight installation is essential, but it hasn’t started yet, so Peshawar can’t host PSL matches.

Sources claim that the stadium’s construction has cost billions of dollars, but the project is still unfinished.

Fans of cricket are looking forward to seeing their favorite players, both national and international, compete in Peshawar.

Schedule:

Recall that PCB supports holding PSL 9 matches in four different cities: Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan.

Starting on February 12, the teams are going to participate in four days of practices and games.

The opening match of the event, which takes place in Lahore on February 17, pits Islamabad United against the reigning champions, Lahore Qalandars. On February 18, the Multan Sultans and the Karachi Kings will play in Multan.

It is advised that Karachi Kings and Islamabad United play their first game in Karachi on February 28. On March 1, matches in Rawalpindi will begin with United taking on Quetta Gladiators. During the event, six doubleheaders will also be played.

Eleven games are scheduled to occur in Karachi, nine in Lahore and Rawalpindi, and five in Multan.

Karachi will host three playoff games and the championship game, which is slated for March 17.

It is important to mention that the teams have finished building their rosters for season nine. The National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore hosted the event, where teams assembled their final squads following a rigorous selection process.
